Our family first settled in Woodmillar in 1911, and established a dairy farm. This farm has been run by our family for the past 4 generations. It continued as dairy and dry land agriculture until 1978. At this time we transitioned into a commercial beef operation by introducing Santa Gertrudis bulls with great results, and our love of the cherry reds has never waned. Over the years we have purchased bulls from many different studs. We made moves to establish Woodmillar Santas in the early 1990’s, however we purchased a piggery next door to us that expanded our pig operation and this curtailed the stud aspirations for the next couple of decades. While this was happening we continued to fly the flag for Santas by entering our cattle in the prime cattle section at our local show. We’ve been lucky enough to have had success in multiple categories. We have also had success at our local weaner sales over a long period of time. We aim to produce commercially relevant, practical, well muscled tropical cattle that will perform well in all markets. Our door is alway open and we love nothing more than welcoming people to our place to inspect and talk about cattle. Lance and Kym
